Once the bid has been accepted, the pledging process begins and usually lasts about 9 weeks. During this time, pledges will meet weekly to discuss the specific tasks that require completion. The tasks include:
- Organizing a Professional Event,
- Volunteering in the Community,
- Planning a Fundraising Event,
- Participating in Chapter Events,
- Getting to know and learn about the the Brothers,
- And passing weekly written exams.
Throughout the process, evaluations will be conducted to ensure the pledge's dedication, commitment and development all meet Delta Sigma Pi's expectations. If the pledge has completed all the tasks and has met expectations, they will be invited to initiation.
Initiation for Fall 2011 will be in Chico, California.
